I bought this a few weeks ago but finally took delivery last Thurs. (Due to moving) Got HD cable (DishNetwork) connected this morning. As everyone else has stated...absolutely beautiful TV, both frame (matches our TV stand :) and pix. Like others before me, I did my research. It came down to Sony and Samsung. Sony had a few more features, but the image on Samsung is head and shoulders above the comparable Sony: vibrant colors, sharp images, clean action (a good friend of mine has Sony's XBR3 unit and I like mine a lot better ;) I'm still learning how to optimize the image, but what I have now is so much better than anything before it. Well-worth the investment. Everone's comments here are spot on....
Amazon was great. A week after I purchased and set up delivery, the price dropped and Amazon was courteous and responsive in providing the credit (I'd be interested in learning how the person who said he/she got it for ~$1500 did it...that's a great price!).
Delivery, on the other hand, was less than satisfying. The organization, CEVA, delivered it earlier than stated (which was only inconvenient in that I had both the internet and DishNetwork folks in the house at the same time). However, if they were at my home for longer than 10 mins., I'd be surprised. The 2 men who came in barely spoke English. They were quietly curteous, but they stayed only long enough to turn the unit on, check for some sort of image (they even asked me if I had a DVD available to use, which I didn't, and then they left. Never asked if I needed a showing to understand how to set up and use the unit. I'm glad Amazon offered no-cost shipping....but then, maybe I got what I paid for :(

Comment: Like many other LCD buyers, I did my homework. After looking at this tv at Circuitcity and Best Buy and reading the reviews on the internet I decided that this would be the best tv for me. After delivery which was very good, I hooked up my high definition cable and used the quick start instructions and the picture is simply amazing. I am an avid sports fan and the Olympics just started when I recieved my tv. It was like you were there but in the comfort of your living room. The movies are great and football has just started. I could get into all the technical data why you should buy this tv but all I can say is the picture is fantastic and that is all that really counts. No problems at all and I am one happy viewer

Just got my lcd a couple of days ago with highest of satisfaction. I spend 3 weeks reseaching and comparing samsung and sony online and visually. They matched up head to head except for price and design. Samsung blows sony away. I paid $1479(with $200 rebate) the beat deal I could find on the equal sony was $1990 with both at Amazon with free white glove delivery- which was also a great service and professional.

Go for it. By the way even my conserative wife is amazed and was involved in the decison making process-a major deal. She still believes a good tv should be no more than $600.
