Summary: Worst TV ever Comment: We've had the TV for a couple of years. Now it turns off on its own. Phillips recommends we buy a part that will cost more than $500 to replace. After 2 years? No thanks. I can replace the entire TV for that. Worst TV ever. I won't be buying a Phillips product ever again. Before you buy this TV, search the web for all the complaints. You will be amazed. Better yet, don't buy Phillips.

Summary: Let me convince you why you should NOT buy a Philips Comment: I purchased this plasma for my father to give to him for Christmas 2006. By Christmas 2007 I had to buy him a new one. First - notice how all the positive reviews comment on this plasma after owning it for only a few weeks? Check back with them now and see if they feel the same way!
This is a great plasma for the first few months, but after that the problems begin. The sound started going out on the set. No big deal, or so we thought, since we just turned the set off and then back on. Problem solved ... NOT! Shortly after the sound began giving us problems, the picture started flickering. A few months later, we were forced to leave our set off for a few minutes before the screen would reset. About two months later, the red light of death. The screen would no longer turn on! Calling Philips did little to resolve this. Their help was about as useful as the positive reviews written for this product. It seems to me, this plasma offers a decent product until the warranty runs out, after that you're forced to either scrap the system (which I did) or pay the outrageous repair fees. We were quoted at over a thousand dollars to fix this plasma. Considering the price I paid for it originally and the prices now, it would have been foolish to try and salvage this screen.
I guess what I'm trying to tell you is: avoid this plasma at all costs!! Consider the amount of money you are about to spend and ask yourself: Do you really want to take a chance? Purchase a more reliable system and you'll be better off!

Summary: Last for 22 months Comment: When it worked, the picture was ok. The sound was bad. Last week, the picture was gone, and the red light was flickering. Mine lasts for 22 months, much longer compare to other people. I thought Philips was a good name, but its TV is definitely a piece of #%@*!

Summary: Please, do not buy this product. Comment: I have this TV for 23 months, today, the screen turned black and I noticed the feared blinking red light. Called support and as soon as I mentioned the red light she said, "thats not good". Thanks. Internal problem..you know the rest. I asked her if this is a common problem for a TV thats two years old...she said its "normal wear and tear". Thanks again. 2300$ down the toilet. It also had all the other fun problems....screen that will shut off occasionally, green screen. I know there are some of you out there that are satisfied with this TV, I was ok with it until today and after reading everyone elses similar problems, stay away. There is not much difference in picture quality with this than other manufacturers TV's. Why risk it. DO NOT BUY A PANASONIC. I won't...ever.

Summary: Was a good unit until the warranty expired Comment: I purchased this unit when prices were still high, and paid around $2400.00 with tax for this TV. It had a good picture for just over a year. It always had little issues, and I assumed they were heat related - although the unit was not against a wall. I had a fan running on the back of the unit when it was on to assure it had plenty of air. It would go black from time to time so I would let it site and wait for the picture to come back. then from time to time it would get lines in the screen for a few minutes then go away. About three months ago, the unit popped a little and had lines at the bottom of the screen. About 2 minutes later it had lines across the entire screen. It has a picture that is very 80's reminding me of rabbit ears. I can still make out most of the picture but very difficult to tell what's going on.
I felt devastated, I paid way too much for this TV to only get 15 or 16 months of service from it. I have three Philips TVs at home and this is definitely the last. I searched their site but based on the feedback I see on other sites, I see that it is nearly impossible to get this repaired - parts take 6 mths or more to get. I still have it here non-functional. Spend a few bucks more and get a REAL TV!!
