Summary: Faulty Product - Philips Has Some Explaining To Do
Comment: Given that everyone else has covered this, I'll try to keep my anger in check and keep this brief (my instinct is to vent with lots of capital letters and exclamation points, but what good would that do at this point?).

I have not owned this TV for very long. Maybe a year or two. I don't make a lot of money, and purchasing a 'fancy' TV like this was a big expense for me. I made the investment because I love movies, and wanted a nice, large (for me), flat screen TV on which to watch them.

Clearly, I should have read the reviews before shelling out my hard-earned cash. I was watching a movie one night and guess what happened! The TV just stopped working! First the screen went black. A moment later, the sound went out. I immediately grabbed the user manual to look up troubleshooting tips, and found nothing that was even remotely helpful. Then I went to the www.p4c.philips.com website, where it said I could access online help. The help it suggested for the problem I was having was to have the television serviced. Fabulous advice for a female who couldn't hope to lift this TV and put it in the car even after eating my Wheaties.

The next day, I tried to call Philips, but I was on hold for so long my ear was sweating, and I hung up, planning to call back another time.

Now that I have read these reviews, I am fairly certain I can't afford the hassle or the expense of getting this television repaired. I shall try the suggestion of one reviewer who described the process of changing a fuse, but what I really want is for Philips to refund my money so I can buy myself a better TV. What a disappointing experience!

Summary: Junk Tv
Comment: I bought this TV in Feb this year, went dead in 3 months. The parts are in backorder from Philips (At least that is what i hear from them ) anywayz its been 4 months since the TV went dead and still waiting on Philips to fulfil their warranty commitments. Their customer service is bad. My honest honest opinion is DONT BUY PHILIPS TVS.They are selling junk

Summary: Beware of all PT6441s
Comment: We recently purchased a smaller version of this TV--a new one. Same problem, within 5 months, the power died, and the repair bill will be $150, if it is worth fixing. We certainly aren't going to bother ...

Summary: Dead on arrival - no fix date in sight
Comment: Junk. Unpacked, plugged in, turned on, worked for about 5 hours and then dead - nothing. Called Philips, told me I needed it serviced. They won't take it back because it was Factory Renewed. The nearest authorized service center is 45 miles away - the service center won't pick it up since they have had a hard time getting mileage reimbursed from Philips. It's been sitting in his shop waiting for parts for almost two months. Philips is out of stock for the needed part - it appears a lot of these sets are having the same problem - all sizes. The authorized dealer had a stack of Philips TV's waiting for this part. My warranty will be expired before I even get my TV back. I would not buy this Philips TV again!
